Owo/Ose APC Ticket Tussle: Court Reserves Judgment in Oshodi vs Ijalana Case

The Federal High Court sitting in Akure on Tuesday reserved judgment in the suit challenging the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

The suit was filed by Dr. Abiola Oshodi against Engr. Kayode Ijalana and two others.

At the resumed hearing, counsel to the plaintiff told the court that no valid primary election was conducted, arguing that the process violated the Electoral Act and the constitution of the APC.

He further argued that members of the party were prevented from casting their votes for their preferred candidates.

In response, counsel to the first defendant, Engr. Kayode Ijalana, who emerged as the winner of the primary election, urged the court to dismiss the suit for lack of merit.

He argued that the plaintiff failed to prove the allegation that no election was conducted and maintained that the primary election was duly conducted and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Counsel representing the APC and INEC also urged the court to dismiss the suit for lack of merit.

After hearing submissions from all parties, the presiding judge reserved judgment and stated that a date for its delivery would be communicated to the respective counsel.
