Imo Abduction: We Trailed The Kidnappers To A Particular Location But We Couldn't Move In - Imo CP
The Imo State Police Command has stepped up efforts to secure the release of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members reportedly abducted in the state, as security operatives continue to search surrounding bush areas for the suspected kidnappers.
The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Audu Bosso, disclosed the development in an interview featured by Channels Television on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Bosso said police personnel and other security operatives involved in the operation had entered the bush in an attempt to track the abductors and establish the whereabouts of the victims. He stressed that the search would continue until the abducted corps members were found and brought to safety.
According to the police commissioner, security personnel had already conducted an operation in the area the previous day after receiving information that enabled them to follow the trail of the suspected kidnappers.
He explained that the team succeeded in tracing the suspects to a particular location but was unable to immediately advance further into the area because of the circumstances surrounding the operation.
