The meeting also looked at strategic political dialogue aimed at altering the political landscape both in Enugu State and across Nigeria.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has signalled its intention to challenge the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level and in Enugu State, calling for partnerships and political consolidation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The call was made by the ADC Governorship Candidate in Enugu State, Ocho Obodoeze, when he led a delegation of state party leaders and stakeholders on a visit to former Minister of Transportation and ADC vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The visit was to commiserate with Amaechi over the transition of his mother, Mrs. Mary Orduah Amechi.
While the primary mission of the delegation was to express solidarity with Amaechi over the loss of the family matriarch, the meeting also looked at strategic political dialogue aimed at altering the political landscape both in Enugu State and across Nigeria.
Addressing newsmen during the visit, Obodoeze stressed that unseating President Bola Tinubu at the center and Governor Peter Mbah in Enugu State in 2027 requires deep political alignment, bridge-building, and strong opposition alliances across state lines.
"
"The visit represents a commitment to building bridges, strengthening national connections and ensuring that Enugu State remains an active participant in the wider political conversations shaping the country’s future ahead of 2027, " Obodoeze said.
He noted that the engagement underscores the ADC’s determination to build a formidable national political structure through meaningful consultations and alliances with key political stakeholders across the country.
The delegation included the State Secretary, Comrade A.C Ude, Organising Secretary, Queen Lolo Ngozi Nwankwo, Zonal Vice Chairman, Enugu North, Prince Achalabagu, Administrative Secretary, Chief Okey Okagu, Hon. Arinze Ezeh, and Chief Okwudiri Wankwo.
The condolence visit comes ahead of the burial ceremonies for late Mrs. Mary Orduah, which have been scheduled for September 4 and 5, 2026.
