A Guest Died In A Hotel, After Realizing He's Dead, The Lady With Him Took His Phone And Left—Sani
Former Kaduna State Senator Shehu Sani has called on lawyers to use their social media platforms to educate members of the public about the legal consequences of their actions.
Sani made the appeal in a recent Facebook post while commenting on an incident involving the death of a hotel guest and the alleged actions of a woman who was with him and hotel staff.
According to Sani, the woman allegedly took the deceased man’s phone and left the hotel after realizing that he had died. He further alleged that hotel workers later entered the room, removed the body and dumped it under a bridge.
Narrating the incident, Sani said, "A guest died in a hotel. After realising that he is lifeless, the lady with him took his phone and left. The Hotel staff entered the room, took the corpse and dumped it under the Bridge."
Sani did not provide further details about the identity of the deceased, the woman involved, the hotel or the circumstances surrounding the reported death.
He used the incident to raise questions about the legal implications of actions taken by individuals after discovering a person has died.
The former senator urged lawyers who maintain social media accounts to make use of their platforms to provide regular legal education to members of the public.
He said greater public awareness of the law could help people understand the potential consequences of their actions, particularly in unusual or sensitive circumstances such as the one he described.
