Where Will Obi Get Money To Give To Everybody He Did Not Steal And He Is Not Receiving Pension— Ogun
A former member of the House of Representatives, Sergius Ogun, has said he would not ask NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi to pay for his flight tickets if he were sent abroad to represent him. He stressed that the outcome of Obi’s leadership was what mattered most.
Speaking on Naija Unfiltered on Symfoni TV, Ogun was reacting to comments by a bishop who campaigned for Obi in 2023 but has now endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The bishop had said Obi paid for neither his accommodation nor his flight ticket.
Ogun argued that Obi did not steal money while in government and does not collect a pension. He said Obi could not be expected to give money to everyone who came out to support him.
In Ogun’s words: “If Peter says for me to go to the US tomorrow or UK to represent him, either for fundraising, I will not ask him to buy me tickets, because for me, what’s most important is the outcome. How is he going to govern? How is he going to bring us out of this hole? They say if it’s not broken, why fix it? But is Nigeria not broken today? He told us clearly that he didn’t steal money while in government. He’s not receiving pension. Where will he get money to give to everybody that comes out?”
