I Personally Went to Kwankwaso And Explained Why He Should Join Southern Presidential Candidate– Lawal
During an interview on SYMFONI, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, said he personally visited Rabiu Kwankwaso after negotiations between opposition political groups encountered difficulties.
Lawal explained that different committees had earlier been involved in discussions about how political groups could work together ahead of an election.
He said disagreements emerged over whether the groups should enter a simple alliance or undertake a deeper political merger, particularly because of complications involving candidates at different levels.
According to Lawal, those difficulties eventually caused the broader arrangement being negotiated at the time to fall apart.
He said that after the negotiations failed, he decided to approach Kwankwaso directly rather than allow the entire political discussion to end.
