Tinubu is a great leader and, to me, the Obafemi Awolowo of our time—Olofa Ademola Adedokun
According to a report by The Nation published on Thursday, October 1, 2026, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Lagos State, Olofa Ademola Adedokun, has urged members of the ruling party to intensify grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adedokun, founder of the Tinubu Unity Forum (TUF), said the APC should begin working at the community level well before the election rather than depending primarily on large political rallies.
He encouraged party members to focus on identifying potential voters, engaging communities and strengthening local structures as part of preparations for the 2027 contest.
The APC chieftain made the remarks while discussing the political landscape and anticipated competition ahead of the next general election.
Adedokun also expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for another term, arguing that the administration’s record would be central to the ruling party’s campaign.
He identified infrastructure and education financing among the areas the APC could point to when presenting the administration’s achievements to voters. He specifically mentioned investments in roads and railways, as well as programmes administered through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Adedokun also highlighted Tinubu’s lengthy political career and established network as factors he believes will be relevant to the 2027 election.
He traced the President’s political influence to his years in Lagos and his subsequent emergence as a national political figure, arguing that the structures developed over time now extend beyond the Southwest.
